What resource opportunities do Cleveland and other Northeast Ohio communities have for citizenry? This week's forum will look at the wealth of assets already in place that once empowered by technology, expand their benefit to residents.
With new community applications over wireless broadband technology, community development organizations can become key leaders in building economic, social and environmental sustainability for all residents.
Underserved communities are a particular focus where leveraging community assets, and by collaboratively planning together can expand their participation in sustainable markets and the global community.
Speakers:
C V (Charlyn) Wood, Civic Entrepreneur of CONNECT, focuses on developing technology initiatives which integrate technology access and applications across communities.
James Rattleff, CEO of AR Designs, engineer and project manager responsible for AR Designs R&D efforts with NASA, GRC, and Honeywell FM&T
Dr. Paula Gomez Farrell, Senior Associate for the Urban Technology and Inclusion Initiative, NorTech, an initiative that involves the development of activities ensuring the needs of urban and minority communities are included in the regional technology strategy for economic development. Focus areas include: addressing the problem of health disparities for urban and minority communities through development of health information technology collaborations and creating economic opportunities through the development of technology apprenticeship programs for urban and minority students.
