Information And Research Knowledge Contributions

The key to sales is the cost per megawatt. There are many manufacturers, but the largest wind power turbines compete with conventional power plants.
The conventional design wind turbines require strong civil construction, steel towers, steel turbine casings and gears, as well as the turbine blades, some over 120 feet long.
Wind Farm construction requires all the same permitting as conventional power plants, often taking as long for environmental permits, etc.
There has also been recent complaints in the world markets for the bad esthetics of wind farms dotting the landscape.
Following is list of some manufacturers.
Largest is Vestas of Denmark, then GE, which purchased Enron Wind (which purchased Zond).
