What is public engagement?
Public engagement is a critical part of network building, innovation and entrepreneurship. The ability to convene is paramount and provides opportunity for individuals who have the initiative to come together to discuss meaningful issues. A democratic and deliberative process guarantees the meetings will be productive and sustain engagement of the participants.
How do people engage?
By observing appreciative rules of civic collaboration, purposeful dialogue facilitates strategic learning of the individuals and of the group. This along with guided leadership, provides an opportunity for each person and the group as a whole to not only accelerate their approach to problem solving, but to mature their evolution of cognitive thought process. The end benefit is a larger volume of diverse ideas with a higher level of quality.
Why is it important?
We can no longer work alone. The challenges to global sustainability are too complex. By working together in ways that enable free flow of information exchange between more than one person we can innovate together with a higher level of brainpower. By setting egos aside and committing to working in service of the public good we can learn faster and innovate sooner.
